NEW YORK—HX: The Hotel Experience Powered by AAHOA, the longest-running trade show and conference for hospitality professionals, which was scheduled for November 8 to 9, 2020 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York, has been officially cancelled. This difficult decision was made after closely monitoring government regulations and safety measures concerning the COVID-19 pandemic and consulting community partners and supporters.
Recent developments have made it impossible to bring the hotel community together safely and successfully. This is due to the ongoing progression of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, including the latest government data, measures, and guidelines on the phased reopening plans in the United States; current restrictions on congregating and large gatherings imposed by states and other government and public health authorities; travel restrictions into the New York City area; and the various company-imposed travel restrictions on employees affecting attendees and participating companies.
“We are disappointed that we are unable to bring everyone together this fall,” says Kevin Gaffney, Group Show Director, HX and VP, Emerald. “But we believe this was the right decision to make for the health and wellness of the hospitality community. We appreciate the loyal support of the exhibitors, attendees, and our partners.”
“The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly impacted the hotel industry, but we know we will rebound together and continue to thrive,” adds AAHOA President and CEO, Cecil P. Staton. “We cannot thank the community enough for its support. We look forward to 2021.”
“Our partnership with Emerald for HX is one of our most important relationships and events of the year,” adds Biran Patel, AAHOA Chairman. “While we are disappointed not to gather in 2020, we look forward to the road to recovery, which runs through HX: The Hotel Experience Powered by AAHOA in 2021.”
The next HX: The Hotel Experience Powered by AAHOA is scheduled for November 14 to 15, 2021 in New York City.
